Rice Field

This shot was randomly taken in 2005 from the window of the "ordinary bus" (open windows, no airconditioning) en route from Daet, Camarines Norte, to Metro Manila. It shows a typical Philippine scene of rice fields and coconut trees, against a volcano backdrop shrouded in low tropical clouds.

In 2010, a customer visiting Turo-Turo Philippine Cafe from Wellington exclaimed, "I know that rice field! That's in Quezon. That's where I grew up! Our house is just behind those trees." An unexpected but delightful coincidence.
